Portugal is one of our favourite countries, we have been to. We have visited Lisbon, Sintra, Nazare, Coimbra & Porto. Every single city was a MUST Visit. Each one of them has its own charm & beauty. Portugal has lots of history, as a country, and you can observe it from city to city.
In both cities, Lisbon & Porto, you can see the difference right away. Lisbon is more of the hustling, busy city. It breaks down to different popular areas, such as Chiado, Bairro Alto & Alfama. Each area has its own story. In Lisbon you can discover super rich areas and the opposite. Interestingly, the poor areas are extremely safe, friendly & welcoming.
Porto on the other hand, is more of a romantic vibe city. The energy there is to walk around, eat out, and of course have lots of wine! They are known for their wine, especially the port wine. It can be your honeymoon destination as well.
In between Portugal and Porto, there are quite few cities that you must visit. One of them is Sintra, an hour away from Lisbon. Sintra town is full of stunning castles that are sorrounded by beautiful nature. It is protected by UNESCO. Must Visit! The second city is Nazare. It is a beach town, that is famous for its MASSIVE WAVES. It can reach up to 100ft. Insane. The last city is Coimbra. It has this Medieval old town feeling. The city is famous for its Historic University of Coimbra, which in fact, is still active. P.S. stunning views from there.
You know, you fell in love with the country, when you got the taste of coming back and explore more! Portugal has it all, from great people, to beautiful historical neighbourhoods, and delicious food & wine! STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
