Couldn't ask, for a better vacation and destination for our first time family vacation! Didn't know what to expect, but this vacation felt much shorter than 2 weeks. It was a type of go go style of trip. Before, we started our vacation, we organizaed a nice surprise for my mom. Her brother, Arkadi met her at the Venice airport, as she had not clue that he will be coming...
We started off in Venice, moved to Florence, then Rome and finished up in Amalfi Coast, including Capri, which where we spent most of the time. Italy is full of delicious food, from pasta, to pizza, salads and seafood platters! Be warned, after 1 week, you won't be able to look at pizza and pasta anymore (however, it is so good, that you continue ordering it). Most of the restaurants, use local, fresh ingredients. Beside that, every city, has its own energy, attraction, and historical site seeing, especially, in Rome.
Roma, Florence and Venice are definitely walkable cities, which allows you to explore it by foot. In Amalfi Coast, it is more tricky, as everything is up and down hill. If you travel from city to city, give yourself an extra 20-25 minutes for traffic delays! Positano is definitely a place, where you want to stay, as it is extremely beautiful, and centred from other cities. (be warned, it is touristy). 30 Minutes boat from Amalfi Coast, will take you to Capri, which is an upscale island. Besides its beauty, this island invites wealthy and famous people. At night, you are overly amazed, as you watch how people dress.
Until the next time....
